Yumiko and Ken at the Window

We had a great weekend. Ken is feeling pretty darn good these days. Yumiko has made a great transition back to school and I am still taking way too many photographs every day. Here are two of Yumiko and Ken at the window of our side door. Makes me think we need to wash those windows and paint that door again.

Izumi's Here

Ken's niece Izumi Kono has come to visit us from Japan. It is so great to have her here with us. We took a long walk this morning and I got to take a few photographs.

Valley Forge

Ken and I have lived in our house for 16 years and all this time I never took advantage of being so close to Valley Forge National Park. It's a beautiful, lush place with open fields and forests filled with deer and butterflies and old log cabins. I've had a lot of fun in the last few weeks just finding good light and good stuff to photograph. Here's a few pictures from the past few days. (Remember, click on the photo to get a better view.)

A Day at the Races

My old friends from ASTM invited me to go to the horse races today. I had never been before, but had a wonderful time. The races began a little after noon. The day was beautiful and I had the best time just taking lots of pictures. Here are a few:

Zanne, Rob, Izzy and Richie Came to Visit

We got a call yesterday from my niece Zanne saying she and her family were coming east from Seattle to visit family and attend her cousin Robbie's wedding. We were thrilled and so happy to see everybody and have them come for dinner. Here are a few photos from earlier this evening. Everybody was pretty darn good and that little Izzy is a carbon copy of her Mamma.

Green Heron at Eastern and a Deer with Big Ears

I am having way too much fun with this new camera. This morning I got up early and found a beautiful, rather elusive green heron posing in the morning light above the pond near Eastern College. Then late this afternoon, just about at dusk, I took a ride to Valley Forge and found many deer. Here's one with beautiful ears. (Click on the photos if you really want to see those ears and the heron's feathers.) Nothing like a Nikon D700.
