The Grasshopper and the Indigo Bunting

I was taking a picture of an Indigo Bunting when all of a sudden a little yellow grasshopper jumped onto my 600 mm lens.  I had my macro lens over my shoulder and was able to grab a shot of him too.  Oh technology!

This little baby Least Bittern will soon look like his mother or father.  Both were on view at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge yesterday.

Yumiko and Me in the Versailles Gardens in Paris

We are having the time of our lives in Paris.  Today we spent the WHOLE day at Versailles.  In the morning we spent a long, long, long, long, long, long time in line waiting to get through security, but finally we pushed through and it was all glory from then on in.  The beautiful rooms of the palace, Marie Antoinette's bed, the Hall of Mirrors, etc., and then in the afternoon, the even more beautiful gardens and canals and lakes and forests.  We are pinching ourselves.  It began to rain late in the day, so we left and went to a grocery store, bought cheese and wine and tomatoes and fruit and coffee and came on home on the train and had a feast in our little air b and b.  Oh life and luck and love.
