Harrier Overhead

She was hunting something on the ground in the brush.  I was able to sneak up on her and poke my lens through the brush.  She was quite aware I was there, but it didn't phase her.  After a bit she flew up and away.  Such a beautiful hawk with a damaged feather pattern.

The male Harrier Hawk is the light colored one on the right at the top. From what I have learned, he often has two lady friends at a time.  Oh those boys!!

Long Eared Horned Owl in Valley Forge Today

This guy was sleeping at the top of the tree in the woods in Valley Forge this morning.  I put my tripod and big lens at the bottom of the tree and started taking pictures, but he wouldn't look down.  So, I started talking to him and waving my hand and he looked down and thought, "What the heck is that?!"
