Two Finalists in Valley Forge Photo Contest!!

As of tonight I have two photographs that made it to the finals for the Valley Forge Photo Contest. The two bluebirds are in first place. All votes should be counted by the end of the day tomorrow and the winner will be announced on Monday. Keep those fingers crossed!!

Two Cabins

 There is a contest being conducted by Valley Forge National Park for fall photos.  There are three categories:  Wildlife, Fall Foliage and Buildings and Monuments.  It has been so much fun taking loads of pictures since the contest began in late October.  You know how competitive I am.....  Contest ends November 16.  I'm giving it my best shot.  Here is an entry for Buildings and Monuments:

Kestrel on Eagle's Wing

It was pouring rain in Valley Forge yesterday as I was driving along the interline road within the park.  There atop the giant revolutionary statue of two Eagles was the little kestrel perched with perfect symmetry with the Eagle's wing.  Oh such a thrill!!

Fawn in the Rain

It was pouring today when I got to the woods at Pawling's Farm in Valley Forge.  I couldn't resist the urge to find something to photograph.  And there in the woods was a fawn who had already spotted me.  As the rain came pouring down, he posed for his picture. Click fawn to see those rain drops....
