It was a cold and rainy morning when I found this damselfly in the woods near Pawling Farm of Valley Forge. It was too cold for him to fly away, but warm enough for him to climb to the top of the leaf and wave hello. He won first place this month in the Betterphoto.com contest. Woot Woot!!

The Toad and the Ant
I was walking in the woods today in Charlestown Meadows and came across this little toad. An ant walked by (look closely at the first photo.) The toad turned his head to see the ant and in a flash too quick for the camera grabbed the ant and closed his eyes. Then he stuck out his tongue and burped.

Talking to the Indigo Bunting
There were two of these sweeties playing in the woods. I so wanted to get them in the same frame, but alas, only one posed at a time. Here's my favorite. Click to see the eye contact.
