Tinsel Left Out In The Cold
As you my know if you are a regular reader of this blog, we had been entertaining a beautiful "grandcat" named Tinsel. She came over every day and we would let her come in and get lots of love, but no food or bathroom breaks. Then we would put her back outside to go home to whomever her lucky parents were. Then about a week ago a little gem of a kitten named Totoro (Toto for short) came into our lives after being abandoned in the rain. We tried to introduce Tinsel and Toto a few days ago, but it was World War III. I am afraid it is curtains for Tinsel, as Toto has taken over command of the inside of our house.

Please, PLEASE do NOT let those cats just roam outside. It is dangerous for the cats - every year cats are killed by cars, hawks, fights with raccoons, etc., and fights with other cats, as well as the diseases they pick up. Also, every year at least 1 billion birds are killed by cats that are let outside. Those birds are struggling enough due to our destruction of habitat, why give them another enemy? I always find it ironic that we breed cats for our pleasure, then let them out saying "they like it" knowing it harms them. They don't like cat food, but we give it to them, etc. Please consider your cat and the birds.
ReplyDeleteThank you Charlie. You make very good sense and I appreciate and will honor what you said. Tinsel is not our cat, but a cat from the neighborhood. Toto, our little new adoptee was abandoned or ran away and we took her in about a week ago. She will remain INSIDE with us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie. I can't wait to meet her/him(?) Kathy Dernoga
