Beautiful Izu Peninsula

It's now Thursday afternoon and Ken and I are back from our three day adventure at a little Japanese Inn on the Izu Peninsula in the town of Atagawa.  Yumiko had a five day ski trip with her 7th grade class this week and won't be back until Friday, so we thought we too would take our own trip and enjoy a different part of Japan. I cannot tell you how much I loved this trip and all that is Japanese.  From the two hour train ride along the beautiful mountainous Pacific Coast Line with a good photography book to read and great Japanese coffee to drink - to the sushi lunch in a tiny little bar adjacent to the train station in Atagawa, to the beautiful and most relaxing Inn where we ate and read and bathed and photographed for three wonderful days.  It rained almost the whole time we were gone, but it didn't matter.  Ken had his books and his Chinese homework that he loves.  And I had my books and also braved the weather to take pictures every morning and evening with an umbrella and a plastic bag to protect my camera.  Here are a few pictures that do not do this wonderful part of the world justice.
